Brrrrrr it's cold out here! Paris au printemps doesn't equal the sunny bliss we'd expected. These all-business Parisians show us how to style up while layering up...
We caught this stylish femme on the corner of République and Temple. She shows us how to layer and stay feminine while dabbling in an androgenous look. In our favorite Montmartre bakery we encountered this lovely monsieur who takes layering to new strata. Also, notice the Frenchie behind him who appears less successfull in his wardrobe choices...

Warm layers make this summer dress spring-ready. Comfortable and fashionable. Success. | | No comments for this item |

The Lattice Group explored Madrid to look for some hot business fashion. The result was not plentiful. Though Spaniards are by far some of the most beautiful people we've ever seen, their business fashion isn't particularly edgy. Nontheless, here are a few stand-outs. The green tones were appealing. As was her choice of necklace. Or, honestly, it was just her face that did it for us. Very sleak. But leather on leather? This man is living up to the stereotype of metrosexual. And it's not the pink... ...it's the excessive label fetish. What is our conclusion? To hop over to Paris! Stay tuned for pictures from the timeless city of style. | | No comments for this item |

Four weeks in Madrid rendered a meagre selection of fashion-blog worthy pics of young people, but a heep of oos and aws over the old. In Madrid, being old it hot. And turning seventy doesn't seem to entail the end of style, or the beginning of sensible footwear. On the contrary, we've never before seen as many stylish 70+ers towering on high heels while strapped into elegant outfits. These well-seasoned Madrilenos are aging gracefully and stylishy, and they're putting the young, casual generation to shame.
Beyond being stylish, the oldies are also showing up the youngens when it comes to love. Everywhere you turn there is a white-haired duo clasping hands and exchanging cooing words. The divorce rate in Spain may be rising rapidly (just like in the rest of the world), but it isn't effecting those that have truly weathered through decades of companionship. Enjoy a glimpse of these loving, fashionable oldies. They're guaranteed to make you smile. See? I know you're smiling. | | No comments for this item |

The Lattice Group's own Abby Lofberg spotted some New York dwellers that interperet "business attire" in innovative ways. Who says you have the wear a penguin suit? If your boss says you do, that still doesn't mean you have to make yourself boring. Keep it interesting by wearing daring shoes or a colorful scarf. What did your mama tell you? It's all in the details. Loving this use of classic materials and colors in a modern cut. This is what I call making casual after-work work. In this case, the pattern clashing does interesting things to spruce up an otherwise simple peacoat. Go forth all ye penguin suiters, but wear hot footwear. Publishing may be a female-dominated industry, but this man is rocking up the book world. Red-hot on the street, and soberly business in the office after the popping outer-wear comes off.

At college, there is a lot of buzz about corporate culture and dress code. When we go for job interviews, the career services offices urge us to "dress professionally." We usually take that as meaning suits in a demure tone of gray with minimal accessories. But does "dressing professionally" mean something different depending on what industry you're hoping to go into? It appears as though it does. We asked a couple of college students to be photographed as they normally dress, and then as they would dress for a job interview. Their casual and eclectic take on "professional" surprised us. Read what they had to say about how what they wear corresponds to their career aspirations: Emily T.

Every-day Wear Business Attire "I know that when I graduate I'll only be applying for creative positions, so a corporate-looking suit wouldn't work for me. For my interview ensemble, I tried to put together something classy and presentable that still suggested a sense of creativity and independence. I hear super conservative costuming for even the most high-powered of positions is on the outs anyway." - Emily T. Sam M.
Every-Day Wear Business Attire "For the casual attire: I love hoodies. I love purple too--it's the most underrated color. Purple hoodies, therefore, are superior in all ways. For the formal attire: I probably wouldn't wear this getup for an interview with Morgan Stanley, but then again, I'm not about to enter the world of finance. I'd feel most comfortable in this outfit at an interview for something having to do with media or the arts. I might also consider shaving." - Sam M. Maddie T.

"No matter where I am going, I choose looks that express my taste for a vintage feel and that can be dressed up or dressed down. I tend to wear pieces that have a creative flair and that work with my tall height, and I embrace trends that work with my style while staying true to myself when they aren’t for me. I think the power of a stiletto should never be underestimated, and for a formal interview a polished look can be as simple as a classic long-sleeved dress with a beautiful coat or a scarf. A clean, fresh, natural look is my goal no matter what the occasion." - Maddie T. Fashion Spread by: Alexxa Gotthard Photography by: Anders Lee Meyer | | This item includes 1 comment |
